Just before the cup final against PSV, Ajax brought back the cup expert: Klaas-Jan Huntelaar stood as a player three times, Käbi. The current management consultant has always enjoyed the atmosphere surrounding the last battle.
Huntelaar was able to celebrate Ajax in De Kuip in 2006, 2007 and 2019, and three of his four children have remembered it tangible. After three finals with Ajax, the striker received a small cup in memory and has kept it well. “I have them in the nursery, they’re above their bed. How many kids do I have? I have four, so I actually have to arrange another cup somewhere …” he tells ESPN.
The next final battle between PSV and Ajax is at stake on Sunday. “The best thing about the finals is the event, the day, the fans who are there with two big parties,” says Huntelaar. “Neutral part, always nice, but of course I like those two camps again. And this finale, it’s the best thing to be there, that’s the thing.”
PSV and Ajax will start on Sunday at 6 pm This week, together with Michael Lamey and Nourdin Boukhar, we looked back at the previous Amsterdam-Eindhoven Cup final, where Huntelaar won the match.
